Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) was annoyed at having to move from big cities to small towns in Greendale, Maryland. But all that changed when Zach acquainted with the beautiful girl named Hannah (Odeya Rush) who happen to live next to his home.
But Hannah has a slightly strange father, RL Stine (Jack Black), who works as the author of the Goosebumps series, this series of books containing stories of monsters and ghosts dangerous. And magic, monsters and ghosts are real.
To protect the surrounding communities, RL Stine locking the whole book so the monster can not get out. When Zach inadvertently open the book and the monsters come out, they must work together to send the monster back to where they came from before it's too late.
